We’ve had an amazing summer at Dirigo Pines, with even more fun in store this fall and winter. As Autumn closes in, we find ourselves looking back at all of our summer fun and games.
The summer was kicked off with our annual Fishing Derby, with a few catches big enough to throw on the grill! We enjoyed a BBQ with the staff, planted flowers all around the Inn, and even managed a trip to Leonard’s Mills – a 1790s living history site which is home to the only operational water wheel powered, up-and-down sawmill in Maine.
Our residents enjoyed some friendly competition with retirement communities in nearby Hampden and Belfast, perfecting our putting in the annual Putting Contest and brushing off our bocce ball skills recently at the Bocce Ball Throw Down at Avalon Village. (We might have to put in some more practice hours next summer to keep up with their bocce skills!)
Check out these photos from our summer of fun, and stay tuned to see what’s in store this season!
