Around Town: Craft Fair Season

Tis the season for craft fairs! Amazing artists, craftsmen, bakers and more are selling their wares all over our great state this month. Here’s a small sampling of some local craft fairs and events – leave your own suggestions in the comments below!

Nov. 7-8: Enjoy the Maine leaf color changes and stop by the Bangor Arts and Crafts Show at the Cross Insurance Center to enjoy all the wonderful handcrafted items that United Maine Craftsmen members have to offer. Nov. 14-15: The Zonta Club of Bangor’s annual Marketplace, Antique and Craft Fair at Brewer Auditorium. Join us for a fun day, with approximately 60 vendors for your Christmas shopping. Stop at the Zonta Cafe for a delicious lunch of homemade chowder and other treats. Don’t miss the Silent Auction and Food to Go where you can get sweets and lots of take home meals. Door prizes and a 50/50 raffle.

Nov. 14-15: Join fellow growers, bakers, cheese artisans, vintners and brewers from Maine in the annual Maine Harvest Festival at Cross Insurance Center. Includes local chefs creating masterpieces strictly from local ingredients. Celebrate the bounty and variety of food products that are available fresh from the fields, orchards and ocean in the great state that we call home. Event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

Nov 27-29: Give a gift with meaning. Give a gift of quality. Give a gift Made in Maine. Over 50 United Maine Craftsmen artisans will be selling their locally made products at the Brewer Auditorium. Hourly gift giveaways and daily drawings. Admission $2. Event times are Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
