Discover Dirigo: Walking Trails

Dirigo Pines is more than just a name – our campus is surrounded by wooded areas, offering amazing glimpses of nature. Residents spotted newborn fawns this spring near the Inn and blue herons and Canada geese often take advantage of our picturesque ponds. Our many connected walking trails are the perfect place to spot chipmunks, squirrels and the occasional pileated woodpecker.

Interpretive trail guides and occasional walking tours are available to guide walkers along the trails and point out the red oaks, beech trees and large number of mature hemlock trees. You can spot woodpecker holes, chickadees, and even glacial boulders along our trails.

Fall is the perfect time to stop by for a visit and admire the foliage along our walking trails!
